Gutter Ball is a 3D combat platformer where you attempt to find your way out of a "whimsy-creepy" haunted bowling alley and use your trusty bowling ball to fight off hoards of monstrous bowling pins. A 9-month-long academic project developed by a 10-person team of CS, design, and sound design students.
I contributed as a gameplay engineer and spent most of my time on the user interface and user experience. Over my time with this team, I learned much about the Unreal Engine 5 pipeline and UI/UX design and engineering.
Throughout the project I:
- Prototyped and collaborated on an item powerup system
- Implemented user interface system and components
- Curated our quality testing procedures and issue-tracking system
